Dear Phyllis and family,
As a novice Frustrated Maestro,I only had the privilege of playing under Al's direction one time, but his warmth and genuine concern for "his" band members left a lasting impression on me. He made each of us feel as if we were the most important player in the orchestra, and I'll never forget how he came up to me on the last day of the rally and thanked me for participating. He was and is a true gentleman. The world will just not be the same without him.
