Helen Markley

MARKLEY, HELEN, passed away in Tampa on January 15, 2004. She was preceded in death by her husband Paul F. Markley and grandson, David F. Kinney. A graduate of the University of Hawaii in education, Helen taught fourth grade in Merrick, N.Y. and at Blue Lakes Elementary school in Miami, FL. When her husband retired from the U.S. Army they traveled widely. After his death she continued to travel touring South America, the Orient and Europe. After retirement from the Miami Dade School System she devoted many hours of volunteer work to local hospitals and her retirement home. Her three grandsons were very dear to her and she was a very important influence in their development. She enjoyed her last two years at Park Place at Carrollwood where she always remarked on the kindness and caring staff. She will be remembered as a vital, intelligent, loving person. Helen is survived by her daughter, Anne Kinney, grandsons Scott Kinney and his wife, Evette, Jeffrey Kinney and his wife, Lori. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, January 20, 2004, 10:00 a.m. at Village Presbyterian Church, 13115 South Village Dr. Tampa, FL.
