Ike Starkman will always be remembered as a true class-act of a human being; always with a kind word to say and always immensely generous in spirit. I don't think it is possible once you have met Ike to forget his smile, which beamed as bright as the sun. Ike, your smile, your loving spirit, and your effervescent love of life lives on in those had the fortune of knowing you... forever.

When I saw Ike, a smile always came across my face. No matter what could be going on, Ike brought a sense of happiness and joy. Meeting Ike only a few years ago was a breath of fresh air. I always took pleasure in our conversations. He spoke often of his family and, to them, I express my deepest condolences.
To be Ike’s presence was a delight, and you were blessed if you knew him.
So many memories and so many smiles. I feel fortunate that our paths crossed and I had the chance to know him.

Rarely in one’s life do you meet a person that you can truly call FRIEND. Although Ike and I only knew one and other for the last eight years or so, we shared a lifetime of good times which for me will now be happy memories.
The countless hours spent discussing his favorite subjects will always be prominent in my mind. How he loved his kids Jason and Guy and his grand children. He spoke of them every time we were together with such pride and love.
How he loved his life. A life filled not only with family but Jerry’s, Epicure, his NY Concession business and his deep love for Israel and Jewish causes in general. He loved to sit and discuss politics with me as he was a loyal Republican and I am a loyal Democrat. Ike always knew in his heart that he was ALWAYS right in his political positions and was certain one day he would convert me to his point of view.
Ike loved LOVE. I recall just last year over the 4th of July weekend we went to Aspen with Tommy, Gary, Brian and several other Miami friends. Ike spent hours sitting at “his “ spot in the center of town espousing how he was seeking love……not just a procession of one woman after another. Ike found the love he was seeking and at his passing was a fulfilled man in that area of his life.
How many dinners did we share at Smith and Wollensky’s and Prime? How many lunch’s did we share on Sunday afternoon’s at La Piaggia? And his favorite of all, how many 5-6-7 or 8 hour Bar B Que’s at Tommy’s house did we share. Ike was my biggest fan as I sweat over the grill at countless BBQ’s. He was my official taste tester with an endless appetite and boundless appreciation for everything and everyone in his world.
Ike was a good man. He was a rare and unique individual living in a crazy and all too complicated world. He was a simple man. He loved family, friends and work. He was taken from us far too soon as his life was on cruise control. Every area of his life was rich and full and at the time he left us, he was complete.
I will miss my friend and I am certain everyone here today will miss him as well. My life has been enriched for having known him, having learned from him, having laughed with him, having argued with him, having kidded with him and most of all for a love we shared for each other. Rest in peace my friend.

My deepest condolences to Jason and Guy. A favorite memory would be the Memorial Day weekend trip to Vegas in 2006. Having dinner with the group in front of the lake at the Steve Wynn Steakhouse. Ike is a kindred spirit who's Legacy will live on forever.
Kindly, Elizabeth
