Eight years ago we suddenly lost my big brother and protector, Jim Abraham. As a family weve also lost many many others who were equally beloved, cherished and now missed. My heart goes out to everyone in my family for each and every painful loss theyve endured. On this 8th anniversary of Jims passing please know I grieve for not only my big brother but also for everyone we have lost as a family. We - and they - are part of our entire Abraham family mosaic. But thankfully we continue to grow as a family, with babies and marriages making our family tree ever stronger, as is the circle of life. I truly believe that love never dies.

It's hard to believe it's been seven years since we lost my brother Jim. Sometimes it seems like just yesterday, and sometimes it seems like it never really happened at all. Oh how I wish that last part was true.
I don't know if this feeling of loss ever really goes away - and I'm not sure that it even should. I never want to forget my beautiful, wonderful, hilarious, talented brother. He's still so badly missed by the many he left behind. What a wonderful person we lost. Thanks to everyone else who hasn't forgotten Jim and much love to you for that.... it means so so much.

They say a person lives on as long as one person remembers him. Jim will live on a very long time in all our memories; he was a kind, fun loving guy and a wonderful cousin.

I met Jim through Ray Viola.... we knocked on the door unannounced.. no cell phones back in 1978.. I remember Jim opening the door and smiling and saying "come on in" he then proceeded to make us feel like the most welcome guest in the world... as he offered us every amendment we could think of complete with the introduction of the musical group Dixie Dreggs a band who I had never heard before that night and have never stopped listening to since... Jim his best friend Karush, Ray and I ended the night satnding in a close circle listening in amazement at the song Cruise Control. It was a bond that lasted 39 years.
James E. Abraham ..I'll miss you until we meet again.

When I first met Jim, I was buying a car at Anthony Abraham Chevrolet. He told me that he played the guitar and that his influence was Al Dimeola. Later I saw him play and I could not believe how good he was, I wondered why he was not famous because he could play exactly like Al Dimeola but faster. What a wonderful guy, very humble and a great human being. I consider myself blessed for having him as a friend.

I am just hearing about this now and I am in shock! I had never met someone who was so full of life. I immediately became his friend when I met him for the first time at A&R Insurance. I play the guitar professionally and we bonded,,,speaking for hours about our favorite musicians and bands. Jimmy, I will miss you, you were a genuinely great guy, a quality human being. I am sure that you are now in Heaven playing the guitar in God's band. I expect to go there someday and see you again. My heart felt condolences to Marina and his family.

Marina, I'm sorry for your loss and will miss Jimmy because he was a true friend who was there for me with my mom. I'm going to miss going to The U football game and seeing Jimmy wearing "that" #5 Cane jersey, I'll also miss that sound of Jimmy saying "ALLLRIIGGHHTTTT" or calling him and hearing the sound bit from "Beavis & Butthead". But the biggest thing I'll miss is his friendship and support

So, so very sorry to hear this sad news. We had an impromptu visit last year at Al DiMeola's concert. It was great catching up after all of these years. I am very grateful that I got to hang with him one more time!
Rest In Peace, Jim...xo

Our first cousins are like brothers and sisters. We all grew up together. My heart breaks that God has decided that heaven needs another angel. Kiss all those Abraham aunts and uncles for us.

Dear Marina,
You may not remember me because I so rarely go to Miami, but I am Jim's first cousin, Mary Anne Bourjaily Williams and I live in Jacksonville, Florida. I am just devastated to hear of Jim's passing. I saw him at Uncle Anthony's funeral and he looked wonderful and glad to see all his out of town family. He has now joined our Uncle. Jim was always a warm and sweet man who cared deeply for his loved ones. Keep that in mind. Cherish and share your wonderful memories. It helps in the coping process if you do, especially with your children. I am sure that you have a direct line to holy ears through him. May God bless you and your family. I know this time is so difficult but with God's help and Jim's intercession, you will be alright....all of you. I am hampered right now with a right broken foot and getting around or traveling are almost impossible since I am not able to drive. But you and yours are in my thoughts and prayers.

I knew Jim mostly through a working relationship and so I comment on that. He went out of his way to try and help people with their insurance. Many times he knew they would not be using him for the policy but he wanted to help anyway. That is what type of guy he was. Stand up staight shooter, Not many like Jim anymore. I will miss you Jimi A.

Jim was the greatest guy. He always had a smile and a joke to share. We remember him as a young kid in Miami at his parents' house with pets running around, his mom cooking a great meal, his Dad telling old stories, and Jim, Teri, and Joe adding to the commotion. Even though we rarely saw Jim in recent years, every time we did it was as if the miles separating us never existed. Rest in peace, Jimmy.

Dear Marina,
Jimmy's smile will be greatly missed. He was always such a sweet man to see and chat with. Be strong and hang onto your memories. Sure wish I had brought in that guitar for him to play.
