JULIA WEINSTEIN Obituary

WEINSTEIN, JULIA L., passed away in Delray Beach, Florida on May 12, 2011 after a short illness. She was born in New York City on June 13, 1923, was raised in Virginia and settled in Florida in 1949. She earned a B.A. from Brooklyn College and an M.Ed. from the University of Miami. She taught English, Honors English, Reading and Journalism at Rockway Junior High School, where she worked for 25 years. Mrs. Weinstein was the winner of Dade County's Teacher of the Year Award in 1982. She was an inspiration to generations of students for whom she opened the doors of literature, and was frequently recognized and thanked by them in later years. Beloved wife of Leo, mother of Mindy Martin and Charles, sister of Charlotte Lerner, and mother-in-law of Tony Martin and Donna Weinstein. View this Guest Book at www. MiamiHerald.com/obituaries.

Leo, Mindy and Charles,
I was very sad to hear about Julias' death. She was a lady that was always postive and full of wisdom. I recieved a letter from her about two years ago and as alwaysshe had encourgeing words. May God contiune to bless each of you.
