Miami, Florida - On behalf of the leadership and administration of Miami Jewish Health, we extend our profound condolences to the Richard and Foster families on the loss of our dear friend, Dr. Lynne Richard. Dr. Lynne Marie (Foster) Richard passed away on January 13, 2025, in Miami, Florida, surrounded by her loving family. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, Lynne cherished her family, pets, and the outdoors. Her academic journey led her to a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy from the University of Kansas, a Master of Science in Counseling from Seton Hall, and a Ph.D. in Educational Psychology from Rutgers University. During her undergraduate studies, she met John Richard, her husband of 50 years, with whom she shared a love of travel, cultural experiences, and family traditions. Lynne's professional legacy is deeply rooted in occupational therapy, where she served as a clinician, educator, and leader. Lynne made lasting contributions to her field, serving as a tenured professor, department chair, and interim associate dean at Florida International University. She was a Fellow of the American Occupational Therapy Association and dedicated to advancing her profession. Lynne was also an active and vibrant part of our community and will be deeply missed. May her memory continue to be a presence and influence in the lives of all who were privileged to know and love her, including her husband, John, Chairman of the Miami Jewish Health Board of Directors, mother, Betty Foster, and her siblings, children, and grandchildren.
