Marilyn Arison Obituary

With heavy hearts, we share that Marilyn ('Lin') Arison, co-founder of National YoungArts Foundation and New World Symphony, passed away October 1, at the age of 88. Lin was a tireless advocate for arts education whose boundless generosity and vision changed countless lives. Lin received the National Medal of Arts from President Obama in 2012. Her absence leaves a profound void, but her legacy will forever live on in her children, many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as in the artists, institutions, and communities she so deeply touched. Lin is also survived by her beloved brother, sister-in-law and daughter-in law.

There will be a private service held for the family.

My deepest condolences to all of Mrs. Arison´s family members, and especially to her son, grandchildren, brother, and sisters.

I feel deeply saddened by her passing. I had the privilege of working with Mrs. Arison for these past 20 years, and I truly appreciated her. She was always so generous and kind to me and my family, and I will miss her dearly.

I have so many wonderful memories of our time together. Over the years, we shared countless moments during her fitness sessions, Pilates, weight training, aqua aerobics, and even Latin dance. She was always enthusiastic and willing to try anything. I know how much she valued her exercise routine and often mentioned how much she looked forward to it. Even after 20 years, while time gently changed her energy, her warm spirit and kindness never faded.

She always cared about everyone around her, her family, friends, and all of us who worked with her. I will forever be grateful for her kindness, generosity, and the trust she placed in me for so many years.

With immense gratitude and love, I will always remember her and keep her in my heart.
May she rest in peace.

With deepest sympathy,
Maricele Hammers

The quiet force behind so much of what has built Miami's reputation for fine arts (and many other causes), Lin was a visionary leader and a life force. Her gracious nature and her dedication to this City were exceeded only by her humility. Her legacy will be enjoyed by generations to come. It was truly a privilege to know her.

I am forever grateful for knowing Lin and especially her taking time to spend an afternoon together in Tel Aviv many years ago. She was a devoted supporter of the Arts, especially in Miami. Sorry for her passing. Barbara Burnstine

I am hard-working to hear the passing about my lovely boss. She was more than just a boss to me. She was a mental, a guide, and someone who truly loved that her kindness, wisdom, and encouragement touched my life in ways that I will never forget that it was a blessing to have known anfòm worked with her, and I will always carry her lessons in her spirit with me. My deepest sympathy goes out to her family, and all who loved her that she will be truly missed, but forever remembered.
With heart failed condolences
