A Miracle Across the Sea
I crossed the ocean, so far, so wide,
Ten thousand kilometers, fate as my guide.
New Orleans was never my plan to stay,
Yet life whispered softly, "Go this way."
A fortunate accident, a twist unforeseen,
Led me to places I´d never dreamed.
And then there was you, on that fateful day,
June 8th, when time found its way.
Five billion souls beneath the sky,
Yet somehow, you and I met eyes.
What were the odds? A miracle spun,
Two distant hearts, now beating as one.
Through laughter, through sorrow, we walked side by side,
With love as our compass, no need to hide.
The days, the years-both joy and pain,
Now memories bright, like sun after rain.
You were my love, my soul´s embrace,
My dearest heart, my destined place.

Yet seven years have passed too soon.
Still, sorrow lingers, deep and true,
For every day, I think of you.
No dawn has come, no night has stayed,
Without your name in whispers made.
I speak to you, though you're not near,
In silent rooms, you feel so clear.
Beyond the stars, beyond my sight,

Paul brought me to many places where I'd have never thought I would have been able to go in my life. All are wonderful memories in my heart. I'm missing Paul.

I was greatly saddened to discover recently that Paul had passed a year ago. What a loss for the world. Paul was one of the kindest persons I know as well as being a caring environmentalist. I often remember him and his eco-bike as he rode around in Broadmoor. At one time, I proudly gardened in a washing machine part he'd recycled. Such a unique individual!
Takami, Michelle, Jimmy, Diane, Paul, and other family members, may you find solace in the gifts Paul lovingly extended to the world.
"O Lord, glorify his station, shelter him under the pavilion of Thy supreme mercy, cause him to enter Thy glorious paradise, and perpetuate his existence in Thine exalted rose garden, that he may plunge into the sea of light in the world of mysteries."

How often I wish this were just a very bad dream!
Still, there isn't a single day that goes by that
I do not think of Paul even in my daydream
A miracle that Paul and I encountered each other was our destiny, I thought
Although I have never dreamed that we would get separated in this horrible way
Your sudden disappearance from my life realized me that
Love and happiness cannot get reclaimed once it's lost
How can I continue to live without Paul in this lonely world?
I will cherish the memories I got from Paul for the rest of my life
Although the memories never substitute Paul's physical presence with me
Paul will be forever young in my memory eternally
Although I wish we could have gotten much older together to share Paul's life with me
Now, it is a dream that will never ever come true in my life sadly

My friend Paul was a very kind and true friend. I cannot believe I will not hear his voice again. All happened so surprisingly fast. We were all blindsided with the terrible news of his diagnosis.
What hurts me most is that Paul did not want to leave us yet. He was desperately looking for possible treatments to cure or prolong his life.
Paul was a great friend to have. He always offered to help you out with home repairs or technical assistance. We also shared similar interests. Our friendship was truly special. I just want to remember him when he was so happy to be working and making personal progress with his great partner.
Rest In Peace my friend.

I knew Paul since he was a child. I grew closer to him in later years and we developed a pattern of pleasant social phone calls in the 90's and early 2000's. We discussed family and all kinds of angles on life. He was always contemplative, intelligent, peaceful and a gentle and logical thinker. These are attributes to be valued in any human and Paul had them. I will truly miss Paul and his passing has given me occasion to ponder the purpose for my own life - passing of loved and close ones has a way of focusing the mind on one's own mortality. Paul was my only nephew and i did not see him often as he lived so far away. He visited us in England with Takami and stayed at our cottage in Somerset. He really seemed to like England. We saw him when we visited Miami to stay with my brother Paul several times. He had a rare gift of making unbelievable things and reminded Paul and i of our uncle Les who was always making things. So sad to lose him at such a young age.

I never had the privilege of meeting Paul in person but we spoke on the phone occasionally and were frequently in touch through messaging. I got to know him very well and always found him to be a caring and loyal friend. He had such a tough life in the past few years and was only just getting thing back into order when he was struck down by cancer. No one deserves that but Paul certainly didn't. He was a kind soul who would do anything for anyone. A gentle giant with the warmest of hearts. I miss you, my friend. May you rest in peace.

As Paul's sister, I thank others for those postings about Paul that are so loving, kind and empathetic. Well said that he was such a gentle and kind person. Everyday since his passing I awaken and feel I imagined it. It feels unreal it being such a loss and as he was still young. Thank God I got to have him as family and I hope to see him again in the next world. He will be loved and missed always.

Gone too soon. A loving friend I will greatly miss. Paul gave me some mangos from his farm, I planted one of the seeds. I will remember him as it grows into a majestic beautiful tree. Just as the fruit from that tree will give, air, sweet fruit, and life to others as Paul did. Friend there is a special place in my heart for you that can never be replaced. Cousin Paul. I have great memories from visiting you in Miami as a young 16 year old all those years ago in 1981, we had a fab time together. We kept into touch via email, all your great inventions you told me about and the pictures too.
You were taken away from us all to soon.
