I can´t believe it is twelve years. I still picture Randy as energetic, full of love and passion for the dogs and sports. I will always appreciate those memories.
May you all cherish your own memories

Everything I have heard about Randy depicts an exceptionally kind and positive man. His considerate ways, intelligence, loyalty and love for his family, understanding of dogs and expertise in judging dog shows are just a few of his sterling qualities. My deepest condolences go out to dearest Ruth, Gina, Skip, Randy Jr. and all of the extended family members. The good gifts Randy leaves behind in this temporal life and the spiritual richness that is embedded in the fabric of his life will remain forever with those who knew him well. It will also remain with those like me whose lives were touched by knowing him through word of mouth, photographs, seeing him on television judging dog shows, and (in my case) being a very close friend of his dear mother.

Although I live in California and Randy lived in Florida, Randy and I met many years ago through agility. We kept in contact via email over the years, with Randy always sending congratulations or encouragement to me and my Weimaraners. What a kind and wonderful man I came to know. It was very obvious how much he loved the dogs, and the Weimaraners in particular. He always had a smile, kind words and the true spirit of camaraderie. What a special man.
My thoughts and prayers are with his family.

I met Randy Reed Sr. when I was, well, basically when I was a little girl. I was only a part of his life for a brief time, but it was a very memorable time for me. Randy Sr. and his wife Gina have always been an inspiration to me. When I was young, I saw in them a friendship, a love, a respect that I have craved ever since. The Reeds are a true family—loving, supporting, laughing, encouraging. I am so saddened by the loss of Randy Sr., but thoughts of the Reed family will always bring a smile to my face. My thoughts and prayers are with each of you—Gina, Randy, Ruth, Mindy, Dylan, Zach, Skip, Eddie, John.

We, in the agility world, have suffered a great loss with your passing. I can't even imagine a trial without you, teasing and being teased, as we pace and warm up for our 24" runs. Our thoughts and prayers are with you, our dear friend, and with your loved ones. Rest in peace, Randy Reed.

I first met Randy several years ago while competing with my weimaraner. He was the kindest man, he was always very supportive and such a gentleman. He made it so easy to get to know him and become a friend. He was a wonderful ambassador to the weimaraner breed as well as the AKC. The world has lost a wonderful person. I send my sympathy to his family as he will be dearly missed by all that he befriended.

I want to send my thoughts and prayers to Randy's family and friends. It is hard to invision going to an agility event in SO Fl. and not seeing him there. He was the first person I was introduced to at my first agility trial and I will never forgot how kind and caring he was to all he met. He always went out of his way to make you feel comfortable. I and the agility community will truly miss him greatly. My condolences to the family. Diane Green (Vero Beach, FL)

I first met Randy in April of 1998 in Perry GA. He was sitting alone in the stands, working on some course maps. I had driven down from Nashville and this was my very first show. I didn't have a clue what to do, so I asked Randy for directions on crating. I didn't know then that he would end up being my judge, at that trial and many others all through the Southeast.
I always looked forward to seeing Randy at shows. I loved his calm spirit and patience, even on those long never-ending days in the ring.
I can't believe he's gone. My heart goes out to his family. Please know that Randy had many friends all over the country in the agility community, and he will be missed terribly.

Randy is so very missed. To say he was my best friend growing up is so inadequate. I knew Randy since he was 5 years old, at Mike Gordon's in his little boat. I met Gina at Cushman School when she was nine. We sure got into a lot of mischief and had so much fun through the years. He was one of the great men in my life that I was priviledged to know. I truly miss him. Gina, Ruth, Randy Jr., Skip, Mindy and the rest of the family, my heart and thoughts are with you.

It is an honor to have had the opportunity meet Randy and share his joy for life. He will be sorely missed by many.

My deepest sympathies to Randy's wife, son and family. I only knew him as an agility judge; however, he was always a gentleman when judging. You knew when you showed under him he was a man who enjoyed our sport to the fullest.

He will be missed.

Randy will be missed here in the Pennsylvania and New Jersey area. He was a good judge, had good courses and was always nice to the people who ran under him and worked with him at the trials. It was always nice see he was judging. Having shown under Randy for many years, it was so exciting when Angie earned her MACH under him. After watching me for so many years (with several different dogs), he was genuinely pleased that we finally got it and with him as our judge. His smile was almost as big as mine! His sincere pleasure made the day even more special. It is sad that I only got to know the "dog" side of him because from reading the other entries on here, it sounds like he was a good person outside the ring as well. Randy may you rest in peace knowing that you are missed. Condolences to his family at this difficult time.

I first met Randy when he made a special trip out to Washington State in 2006 to attend the Weimaraner Club of America’s Versatility Expo that was hosted by our local club. He was not entered or serving in any official role, but he no sooner arrived when he rolled up his sleeves to help. I quickly saw that Randy was a strong supporter of both Weimaraner agility and versatility. In the years since we kept in touch now and then via email, until we saw him again just this past December at the AKC Agility Invitational. Always a gentleman, always helpful and always kind, Randy will be greatly missed by all those who knew him. His death is a loss to the Weimaraner world, the agility world and the world in general. We have truly lost one of the best. Our heartfelt sympathies go out to Gina and the family at this difficult time.

Gina and the Reed Family, it was with great saddness that we learned of Randy's passing. We have thought of him often during his struggle and have always been glad to see him at our local trials. He was a pleasure to work with and he will be greatly missed. Our hearts go out to you at this difficult time. He will be in our prayers. Irene & Al Lamphere - Max 200 - Port Byorn, NY

Randy was the finest of gentlemen. He was kind, gentle and compassionate to both humans and dogs. He always set a fine example of good sportsmanship. A fellow Weimaraner lover, he will be missed by the Weimaraner community also. My sympathies to his family at this great loss. I hope there is dog agility in heaven because that is where Randy will be - giving them all QQ's!

Those of us in the northeast mourn the loss of the wonderful Randy Reed. We loved his courses in agility, but even more we loved his respect, consideration, friendliness and willingness to help as he judged a trial. Today, 7/18/10 we were all reminded by our judges of the life and loss of Randy before we ran our courses. There was a somber moment of thought about Randy and the life he led, which was so admirable. I have never heard a negative comment about Randy in all my years of trialing. I know you are going to the Rainbow Bridge, to be with your beloved companions Randy!

June 18, 2010

I knew Randy only through his role as an Agility judge. He was an excellent judge - one I would travel great distances for. He had a good sense of humor and above all, was a lovely gentleman. I will definitely miss him. My most sincere condolences to his family.

It was always a pleasure to run into Randy at dog events. He had such an agreeable nature, ready smile, wit and wisdom. Judging agility is a hard job with little thanks, but he did it with real class, treating everyone with respect. He was also passionate about the way dogs are treated. I'll miss him. I know the entire agility community will too. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family, including his dogs.

At times like this, words are difficult to express our feelings. My heart goes out to Randy’s mother, Gina, “Little” Randy, Skip, all their families and his many friends. Randy was probably my oldest and closest lifelong friend, being born three days apart in the same hospital and attending first grade in school together. Although we didn’t stay in as close contact the past few years as we should have, I still considered him a dear friend. Randy was full of life and I treasure the years of memories of boating, diving, motorcycling, camping and friendship that he and his family shared with me. Thoughts of Randy will stay with me all my life.

June 17, 2010

Randy, there isn't a single person in Florida agility that doesn't have a personal "Randy Reed story" or many as in my case. You are a wonderful person and you will be greatly missed. Rest in peace our dear friend. We will help watch over your family too. Prayers to all of you. Cindy Wold

Our condolences to his family. Emily Marquez and the Humane Society family.

I have been honored to know Randy through agility for close to 9 years. He was funny, warm, kind, friendly & a gentle-man. He had a smile & time to spare for anyone looking for help and answers to agility matters as well as problems with training their dogs. I don't believe he ever met a stranger. My heart goes out to Gina and the family. He will be greatly missed by all. Lynne Crawford, Vero Beach
