RUTH FEATHERSTONE Obituary

FEATHERSTONE, RUTH MARIE, 86, of Melbourne, FL, a retired, "official" federal court reporter to Federal Judge Joe Eaton of Miami, Florida, passed away Wednesday, November 24, 2010. Born in Cleveland, Ohio, resided in Miami, Florida and moved to Brevard County in 1999. Her husband, former Florida State Representative and Miami-Dade Circuit Court Judge Harold G. Featherstone, predeceased her. During the Florida State Legislative Sessions in Tallahassee, she created The Legislators' Typing Pool. While in Miami, she was a pediatric licensed practical nurse, and started her own business - Featherstone (Court) Reporting Service. She enjoyed greeting and helping people at the Melbourne Post Commons Panera Bread as a hostess. Ruth attended Advent Lutheran Church in Suntree, was a member of The Romance Writers Club of America, and Pilot Club in Miami Springs, Florida. She is survived by her daughter, Vivian (David) Kendall of Melbourne, son, George Featherstone of Miami, and grandchildren, Kevin and Evelyn Kendall of Melbourne. The family will receive friends Sunday, December 12, 2010, 2-3 p.m. with Memorial Funeral Services Sunday 3 p.m. at Florida Memorial Funeral Home, 5950 U.S. 1, Rockledge, FL 32955. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Ruth Featherstone's memory to Health First Leeza's Place, 3661 S. Babcock Street, Melbourne, FL 32901, or The Brebard Alzheimer's Foundation, 4676 N. Ruth I miss giving you a little kiss every morning when I arrived. You always woke up with a smile and a good morning. We did have fun very often. What a dancer you turned out to be. You are missed and were and still are loved.
