STEVEN MICHAEL FLORIO

1947 - 2016

FLORIO, STEVEN MICHAEL, Pembroke Pines resident for over 45 years, passed away on July 7, 2016 at the age of 69. Born in New York on May 15, 1947 he was the oldest of six children who in 1960 moved to Miramar together with their parents; the late Michael Florio and Susan Ferrara. He bravely served his country as a First Lieutenant for US Army during the Vietnam War where he was awarded the prestigious Bronze Star for his heroic achievements. He later continued a distinguished career with the Broward County Sherriff's Office for over 20 years. A loving husband and devoted father he is survived by his wonderful wife and daughter Donna and Donamarie. Treasured by his friends and family for his brilliantly dry sense of humor, his passion for fishing, inspired Italian cooking and unwavering allegiance to the Miami Hurricanes. A military service will be held at 1PM on Monday July 18 at the South Florida National Cemetery, 6501 South State Road 7, Lake Worth, FL 33449. In lieu of flowers or other considerations his family respectfully requests donations to either the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association.
