SUZANNE KROLL Obituary

KROLL, SUZANNE KAY (NEE LaSAGE), passed away peacefully on October 7, 2012 surrounded by her family after bravely battling lung cancer. She was born on July 13, 1943, to John E. LaSage and Vera Starkes LaSage in Chicago, Illinois. Suzanne moved to Miami from Chicago in 1978. She worked at both Miami Dade College and Sir Speedy Printing before starting her own typesetting business: Kroll Typography. She typeset, set up, and printed high school newspapers for many years. A hugely compassionate, unselfish, and caring person, she was the trusted best friend and most beloved wife of James Kroll for 46 years, the adored mother of Melissa Kroll Jacobs (David) and Jeremy James Kroll (Meredith); the cherished grandmother of Kaitlyn Susannah Jacobs, Kristen Melissa Jacobs, Caroline Taylor Kroll, and Jackson James Kroll; adored aunt to Vicki Windham (Jim), much- loved sister-in-law of Timothy Kroll (Dawn); and Worshipped person of her Labradoodle, Phoebe. She is predeceased by her parents John and Vera LaSage, and brothers Larry and David LaSage. She had a heart like no other person, and she was the very nucleus of our family. She loved to get together with family, to fish off Big Pine Key, to cook amazing food for her loved ones, and to spend quality time with her grandchildren. Those who were fortunate enough to have known her know that she always offered a warm smile, a helping hand, excellent advice, a listening ear, and a compassionate shoulder to cry on to all who needed her. We feel an incredible loss in her passing and only hope that she has left some of her amazing kindness inside each of us so that we can carry on her kind and amazingly strong ways. According to her wishes, a private, family celebration of her life will be held. The family thanks all who have sent their kind words, good wishes, and prayers. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to a charity of your choice or the American Cancer Society.

I went to high school with Suzanne and spent many happy days at her house with our group of friends and her family. I was very sorry to hear of her passing.

October 11, 2012

Suzanne met my mother playing cards online, and quickly became family to me. Almost losing my own mother, Suzanne was there for me, helped me and i trusted her with my feelings.

Although we never got to meet her and her family face to face, I know her soul will contintue and i'll never forget her laugh.

thank you suzanne for everything you've done for my mom.

I was blessed to have met Suzanne through her dear granddaughter Kaitlyn. And yes she did leave a beautiful mark on my heart. I am so pleased that my son, Matthew, got to know her and cherish her. He truly misses her and knowing Suzanne has made a wonderful impact on his life. We thank Suzanne for everything she has shared of herself to others. The world is a better place because of her. She will be missed. My thoughts and prayers are with all of Suzanne's family and loved ones.
With our love,
Kathy and David Perkins
