Sylvia was my neighbor in Miami Beach ... I was new to our building .
She reached out with open arms .
So grateful for her friendship !
Her kindness is never forgotten
And that of her family - caretakers !
She was loved and cherished

From my Family to yours, our deepest condolences. She will be miss. I had a chance to work with Mrs. Whyte over 15 years. I learned a lot from her.

I remember as a child growing up on Miami Beach my mother always bought my clothes at your mother’s store. I was even in a small fashion show at the Bath Club modeling one of her beautiful dresses.

In 1958 we arrived from Venezuela & moved across the street from the Whyte family! How Lucky we were to have found this Beautiful family in our new life. Diana and Lori were my first American friends! Sylvia was our family friend for many years. I dressed my daughters and granddaughter with her beautiful designed dresses. How Wonderful she lived to be 101 yrs young. God Blessed us to have your dear MOM with us. Trying to get in touch & talked to you live to reconnect. My phone is 305 7947097. Please reach out to me. Much Love. Scarlett Pulido Zachar

In 2007 I moved to Costa Brava Condo and Sylvia was just the elegant , well dressed , woman at the End of the Hall... with a white cat Sasha .
That quickly changed when I began to know her. I found out of her illustrious career while reading a book on Miami Beach history . When I asked her if was was "the " SYLVIA WHYTE ... she was filled with wonderful stories , always proud yet humble. Over the Years we exchanged simple kindnesses , from invites to swim , flowers on Holidays , help during tropical storms , and a coveted Birthday Party invitation !
The DEVOTION of her Family was evident with frequent visits .. she was deeply LOVED by THEM and her dear nurses .. who never left her, even for a hurricane or fire alarm.
Somehow the End of the HALL will be NEVER be the same and NEVER be as
BRIGHT ..SYLVIA had a SHINE ~
