DILLON — Our beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Anna Margaret Graham of Dillon, South Carolina, was welcomed into her heavenly home on February 14, 2025, after succumbing to a recent illness. She was 87 years old.
Funeral services were held 3 p.m. Sunday, February 16, 2025, at the Dillon Church of God with burial in Carolina Presbyterian Church Cemetery directed by Cooper Funeral Home. Visitation was 2-3 p.m. Sunday prior to the service at the church.
Born on September 20, 1937, to William (Billy) and Alma Nolan Wallace, she was the second of ten children. She is survived by her siblings, J.T., Glenn, Alice, Mavis, Gene, and Cynthia, and was preceded in death by her siblings, Naomi and W.R., as well as her beloved grandson, Rocky Napier.
She was the matriarch of our family. She and her husband, Hamer, raised four daughters — Mary Ann Napier (Bill), Debbie Graham, Terrie Hamer (Wayne), and Rosa Lee Hubbard (Wyn) — in a happy, loving, and Christian home, teaching them to be independent, productive, and God-loving adults. Anna Margaret and Hamer shared 47 wonderful years of marriage until his passing in 2000.
Known as "Nanny" to her grandchildren —Denise Fountain (Scott), Alma Sosnowski (Christopher), Brianna Terpening (Derek Santos), Hunter Hamer (Kristin), Darby Boykin (Ben), and Myers Hamer — she adored spending time with them, reading Bible stories, teaching them about the love of our Lord and Savior, and spoiling them rotten. She also cherished her eight great-grandchildren: Ryland Fountain (who graduated from college in December), Hudson & Harrison Hamer, Sammy, Carter & Eli Sosnowski, and Vincent & Ronin Boykin. Additionally, she shared a close and loving relationship with her niece, Elsie Graham.
Anna Margaret was known for her sense of humor, kind heart, and loving soul. A faithful member of The Dillon Church of God for over sixty-four years, she dedicated her life to serving others — teaching Sunday School, leading the outreach ministry at Sunny Acres Nursing Home, praying with her fellow prayer warriors every Tuesday morning, and visiting church members in need. She was the heart and soul of our family, a devoted prayer warrior for everyone she knew, and a source of comfort for anyone in need. Her solution was always, "Let's pray," and no matter the time or need, she was only a phone call away.
Memorials may be made to the Dillon Camp of Gideons, P.O. Box 111, Dillon, SC 29536 or to the Dillon Church of God, 536 Radford Bld., Dillon, SC, 29536.
