Doris Salyers Obituary

SALYERS, Doris Ann, age 68 of Winchester, passed away on Saturday, Dec. 5, 2015, at her residence surrounded by her loving family. In her spare time, she enjoyed baking, cooking, family and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She worked at Shaw Industries in Cowan for 15 years making carpet. She was preceded in death by her parents, Hubert Mayes and Viola Sharp and siblings, Mary Mayes, Rean Harding, Alberta Couch, Huey Mayes, Harold Lamb, Ned Lamb and Ted Lamb. Ms. Salyers is survived by her daughters, Christina Salyers Holman of Winchester and Cristal Salyers of Estill Springs; grandchildren, Christopher Holman and Deion Holman; great- grandchild, Maliki Holman; siblings, Mattie Pearl (Jim) Samples of Huntsville, Joyce (Eddie) Mayes of Belvidere (who is also her best friend and twin sister), Helen Mayes of Flintville, Allean Simmons of Flintville, Carol (Kay) Lamb of Georgia, Roberta (Bud) Syler of Flintville and Earl Lamb of Georgia; a niece almost daughter, Melinda Mayes Smith of Belvidere; and a host of nieces and nephews. A wonderful angel called home too soon. Missed by many, loved by all! The family will received friends and family during visitation on Tuesday, Dec. 8, 2015, from 4-7 p.m. at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home in Winchester. Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, Dec. 8, 2015, at 7 p.m. from the Moore-Cortner Funeral Home chapel with Bro. Ned Lamb Jr. officiating.
