John Harvey Ray Sr.

RAY, John Harvey Sr., age 67, of Estill Springs, departed this life suddenly on Wednesday, Dec. 14, 2016, at STRHS Winchester, Tenn. Mr. Ray was born in Lynchburg on May 25, 1949, to the late James Harvey and Ethel May Helton Ray. Mr. Ray was disabled. He was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Ray enjoyed fishing and riding his four-wheeler before becoming disabled. He was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather. He is survived by his wife, Freida Solomon Ray of Estill Springs; sons, John H. Ray Jr. and Robert M. Ray, both of Tampa, Fla. and Ted Ray of Winchester; and seven grandchildren. Visitation with the family is scheduled for Monday, Dec. 19, 2016, at noon in the chapel of Grant Funeral Services. Services will be conducted on Monday, Dec. 19, 2016, at 2 p.m. at Grant Funeral Services. Interment will follow in the Head of Hurricane Cemetery in Tullahoma.
