1956 - 2018

COFER, Kathleen "Jackie," age 61, of Decherd, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family at her residence on Saturday, Jan. 27, 2018. Jackie was born on Feb. 29, 1956, in Winchester, Tennessee to Eileen Loutzenheiser Stewart and the late James N. Stewart. Jackie is a 1974 class graduate of Franklin County High School and attended Middle Tennessee State University. Jackie met the love of her life and in 1976, she married Dennis Cofer. She worked for TBE as a driver and in her spare time enjoyed cooking, making crafts, sewing all kinds of items for her family and friends and gardening when she could. Jackie was always looking forward to a vacation at the beach with her family and spending quality time with her grandkids. She was a faithful and devoted member of the Decherd First Baptist Church. In addition to her father Jackie was preceded in death by her brothers, Mike Stewart and John Stewart. Jackie is survived by her loving husband of 41 years, Dennis Cofer of Decherd; children, Tim (Rachel) Cofer of Signal Mountain, Katy (Kyle) Woodall of Decherd, Kara (Steven) Hagar of Decherd and Matt (Rebecca) Cofer of Cowan; grandchildren, Nyrider, Virgil and Orrin Cofer, Bridget and Claire Woodall, Moira Hagar, Jacob Alkenburg, Hayliegh Troupe and Jax Cofer; mother, Eileen Stewart; sisters, Judy (Joe) Cate of Cleveland and Debbie (Billy) Tucker of Winchester; brothers, Bob (Helen) Stewart of Keith Springs, Sam (Elaine) Stewart of Lynchburg and Ted (Cindy) Stewart of Forth Worth, Texas. Jackie is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives. Visitation for Jackie will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 30, 2018, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home in Winchester. Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, Jan. 31, 2018, at 1 p.m. from the chapel of Moore-Cortner Funeral Home with Rev. Chris Nolan officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Garner Cemetery in Decherd with Tim Cofer, Matt Cofer, Kyle Woodall, Steven Hagar, Greg Gipson, Kelly Gipson, Kelly Gass and Joseph Cate serving as pallbearers.
