"Life is mostly froth and bubble. Two things stand like stone. Kindness in another's struggles and courage in your own."

And so was the life of our beloved Eric Wayne McClure, age 42, who passed away on Sunday, May 2, 2021, swiftly and courageously into the waiting arms of his Lord and Savior, the Author and Finisher of his faith.

Eric is survived by his parents, Jerry and Sue McClure of Abingdon; his sister, Emily Brandt and husband, Robert; son, Maddox of Davidson, North Carolina; his special friend, Keira Tibbs and her two children.

He is also survived by the mother of his children, Miranda McClure, and the delights of his life, his seven precious princesses for whom he would have hung the moon and the stars; Mabreigh, Maryleigh, Mirabella, Merritt, Myanna, Meraline, and Melania.

Also, left to cherish his memory are uncles, Ed McClure (Lee), Jim McClure, Larry McClure (Ginny), Teddy McClure (Sarah), and Michael McClure; aunt, Betsy Rash (Roy); honorary "grandmother", Nina Breedlove, many cousins and a host of friends.

The viewing for Eric will be held at the Southwest Virginia Higher Education Center on Thursday, May 6, 2021, from 4 until 7 p.m. with the service at 7 p.m. The burial will be held on Friday, May 7, 2021, at 11 a.m. at Macedonia Baptist Church in Chilhowie, Virginia.

In lieu of flowers, the family has opened a trust at Powell Valley National Bank- checks should be made payable to Eric McClure's Children's Fund- P.O. Box 2376 Abingdon, VA 24212, for Eric's seven beautiful daughters.

In accordance with COVID-19 restrictions, all those attending services are asked to wear face coverings and follow social distancing guidelines.
