Andrew Rambin Obituary

SHERMAN - Funeral Services will be held for Andrew O. Rambin, Sr. (Andy), on Monday, April 14 at 11 a.m. at Waldo Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. prior to the service. Burial will follow at Cedarlawn Memorial Park.

Andy passed away Wednesday, April 9, 2014 at the age of 97. He will lie in state for viewing at Waldo Funeral Home from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, April 13.

Andy was born on December 1, 1916 in Powhatan, Louisiana to the late Elmo and Annie Ethel (Levy) Rambin. He was a World War II Army veteran and retired from the Frisco Railroad with 39 years of service. Preceding him in death was his wife of 68 years, Virgie; his brother, James O. Rambin and his sister, Ruth Rambin Thompson.

Andy is survived by one son, Andrew O. Rambin Jr. and wife Ruth of Benton, Louisiana and one daughter, Marsha Rogers of Arlington, Texas, two grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to St. Mary's Catholic Church, 727 South Travis, Sherman, Texas 75090.
