DONALD WESTER Obituary

DONALD LEROY WESTER Donald LeRoy Wester, 84, of Sherman, Texas passed away peacefully at home on Friday, July 19, 2024. Don was born on February 19, 1940, to parents James and Mable Wester of Dorchester, Texas. Don's favorite thing to do growing up was driving a tractor with his dad, working the land and crops. Don first lived with his father in Sherman and his son before later moving to Pottsboro. Don worked many years with the Preston Volunteer fire Department and a reserve Deputy with the Grayson County Sheriff's Office. He worked over 30 years driving trucks for Roadway Express and served four years in the United States Army. Don loved his western movies, football, and fishing with his son and brothers. Don is survived by his wife of 22 years, Patsy Carney Wester and his son, Anthony Heath Wester (wife Lori). Don is also survived by several grandchildren and great grandchildren. Don is predeceased in death by his parents James and Mable Wester, his brothers Bill, Calvin, Lloyd, Winston, and Charles Wester and his sisters Pauline, Clara Mae, Freda Jo, and Mary Alice. Donald's wife Patsy has five children that were very close to Don and considered him their bonus dad, Sherry Wells, Lesa Stephenson (husband Kerry), Bobbie Jackson (husband Eddie), Alfred Mays Jr. and Melony Drawdy. A visitation will be held on Friday, July 26, 2024, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Waldo Funeral Home in Sherman, Texas. A private burial will be held later.
