Donna Wiechman Obituary

BONHAM - Donna Lee Evans Wiechman, age 61, of Bonham, TX joined her lord and savior and began her great adventure on December 28, 2015.

Donna was born in McKinney, TX to Billy Lee and Katherine (Orlds) Evans on March 13, 1954. She married Gary Wiechman on April 18, 1992. Donna attended school in Plano, TX and graduated from Plano High School. She earned her LVN and Associate Degree in nursing from Grayson College. She worked as a nurse for over 35 years in the North Texas area. Donna had a servant's heart, an unconditional love for all, and the ability to see and nurture the good in everyone she met. She had a special place in her heart for children and the elderly. She had many foster children in her younger days and even as she battled her own failing health, she still offered to babysit anyone that she could in a rocking chair. She spent most of her career caring for nursing home patients and their families. She enriched the lives of thousands of people in their golden years. She was an angel here on earth.

The absolute love and joy of her life was Kaitlyn Elizabeth Wiechman who was born on April 27, 1997. Donna turned into a giggling, camera wielding, overprotective, "have you seen the latest picture of my daughter" type of mother! And so it continued, for 18 years.

Until we meet again in heaven, Donna leaves behind her husband Gary and daughter Kaitlyn Elizabeth, both, of Bonham, TX; brother Kerry Evans and wife Courtney of Dallas, TX; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She also leaves behind an enormous amount of friends, former patients and caregivers who are better people just for knowing her. She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents and brother Brian Evans.

There will be a Memorial Service on Saturday January 16, 2016 at 1 p.m. at Northside Church of Christ officiated by Kenny Gardner of Plano East Church of Christ. Following the service will be a visitation and potluck lunch for everyone.

Special thanks to the wonderful caregivers and friends of DaVita Dialysis, Dr. Myers, Dr. Larry Barker and the staff of Texoma Oncology, Texoma Medical Center 4th floor staff, Plano High School Hen Ladies and Northside Church of Christ family.

In lieu of flowers, donations will be accepted to cover final expenses.
