I know Matt from high school. Last time I saw him in person (2012) I told him I always admired him in high school as an athlete, but even more as a person. He humbly said thank you.

*****Story Time*****

Our junior yr I was feeling down on myself and feeling like everything was against me. I was failing behind and blaming others. Matt was facing many of the same challenges and was EXCELLING in spite of them.

Not even knowing what I was going thru Matt taught me so much about being an underdog, competitor, and fighter just by being himself and letting his character shine through.

That was in 2004 and when I think of Matt Finke I will always remember that lesson he taught me that day.
