Nathan Ross Halfmann

2001 - 2018

On Sunday, May 20, 2018 Nathan Ross Halfmann, 16, was taken from this world and received into the arms of our Lord. He was born August 23, 2001 in Sherman, Texas the son of Patrick Adam and Teresa Kay (Ross) Halfmann.
Nathan was a student at Pottsboro ISD and worked at Tanglewood. He loved all sports, especially basketball, baseball, and golf which they won state in 2018. Nathan was such an asset to the golf team and was the biggest cheerleader of them all. We will never forget Nathan at the 18th green the last day of the State Tournament. He was so excited and went up to every player as they completed the 18th and asked them what they shot and said to them "you know I think we got this, we can win State!" And that's exactly what they did. They won State, with the help of Nathan! The team will always think of him when they are competing or just playing around on the golf course.
Nathan always had that smile or devilish grin on his face. The smile that we will never forget he loved life. He was one of those kids who would do whatever you asked of him. He always gave a110% or more. He was the best kind of teammate and friend. Nathan was a unique soul, and we learned a lot from him. Nathan did life right and went out having fun with his friends.
To repeat a quote by Lou Holtz "if you want to be happy for a lifetime, go win a championship." Nathan did win a championship and was happy for his brief life after, as heaven gained a champion.
Nathan leaves behind his beloved family, parents, Patrick and Teresa Halfmann of Pottsboro, TX; brother, Jonathan Halfmann of Pottsboro, TX; maternal grandmother, Janette Ross of Frisco, TX; paternal grandparents, David Joseph and Shirley Ann Halfmann of Robert Lee, Texas; aunt, Tina Thrasher and husband, Marvin of Montgomery, TX; uncle, David Joe Halfmann of Dallas, TX; uncle, Roy Halfmann and wife, Susan of Lamesa, TX; aunt, Susan Loftin and husband, Gene of Sundown, TX; aunt, Victoria Cantu of San Angelo, TX; cousins, Makenzie and Maegan Thrasher of Montgomery, TX; Kimberly and Brian Halfmann of Lubbock, TX; April Loftin of Alto, NM; and Jake Loftin of Sundown, TX; Shea Cantu of San Angelo, TX; great aunts, many cousins, and extended family along with many cherished friends. Nathan was preceded in death by his grandfather, Phillip Joe Ross.
A Celebration of Nathan's Life will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday, May 27, 2018 at Lakeway United Methodist Church in Pottsboro with Rev. Dyan Dietz and Pastor Allen Snider officiating. Interment will follow in Georgetown Cemetery. Family and friends will gather one hour prior to service time to visit at the church.
Pallbearers will be Blake Dyer, Brandon Plyler, Cy Shope, Sawyer Hardin, Cameron Curry, Austyn Reily, Garrett Townsend, Adrian Delacruz, Hayden Kent, Logan Sims and Jake Estes. Honorary pallbearers will be Pottsboro JV Basketball team, Cason McDaniel, Vade Smith, Dane Marburger, Riley Fish, and Eric Delacruz.
