Robbie Lyn Brooks was born on January 6, 1960 in Oklahoma City, Okla., to Robert Wendyl Watts and Jeri Lyn Lipe Watts. She was raised in Madill, Okla. and graduated from Madill High School in the class of 1978.
Robbie was the fourth generation to work in the family bank starting at age 14. Then she went on to attend Southeastern Oklahoma State University, where she received her degree in accounting.
On May 23, 1993 Robbie married Robert Bryan Brooks of Ardmore, Okla. and they made their home in Ardmore.
Robbie worked for Lincoln Bank of Ardmore and then worked for The Samedan Oil Company as an accountant.
In 1999 Robbie received her Certified Public Accountant license.
In 2007 Robbie went to work for The Noble Foundation as a controller, where she was employed until she passed away on May 26, 2012.
Robbie was current co-chair for Relay for Life; she was the Founder of Road Race 2 A Cure; Served on Main Street Board, Ardmore Parks and Recreation Board, Economic Recovery Ardmore Main Street, A2A Marathon Volunteer, Chamber of Commerce, Plainview High School Baseball and Football booster club, Oklahoma Society of Certified Public Accountants and Christmas Parade Committee. Robbie was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Ardmore where she attended the Love Class. She was also a member of the Cross Point Emmaus Community.
Robbie's joy in life was her sweet angel Chase; watching him grow from a child to an outstanding young man. She loved attending OU football games with her son Chase and husband Robert. Robbie could light up a room with her huge smile and glowing personality. She always had many kind words and a big hug for everyone. She loved meeting new friends. She loved getting to run with her friends in the mornings so she could see them and tell them how much she loved them. The runner group called themselves the sole sisters. Robbie was such a wonderful wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend. Robbie simply loved life.
Robbie is survived by her husband of 19 years, Robert Bryan Brooks and her son, Bryan Chase Brooks of the home; mother Jeri Lyn Lipe Watts, sister Laura Lawrence, Brother Robert (Rob) Watts II and his wife Christina; her grandmother, Robbie Lee Watts, her uncle Bryant Watts and his wife Sharron; her nieces, Makenzie Patterson, Stormi Brooks, nephews, Dillon Brooks, Tanner Lawrence, Colton and Keller Knox and many cousins; her mother-in-law Carole Brooks, brother-in-law Stephen Brooks and many, many friends.
She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Paul Wendyl Watts, her brother Paul Wendyl Watts II, her aunt, Jackie Lipe Simms, her grandmother Jim Evelyn Ware, her father Robert Wendyl Watts, Father in-law Jimmy Clem Brooks.
Casket Bearers will be Dillon Brooks, James Morgan, Jeb Byers, Chris Lawrence, Issac Barnes, Terry Rushing, Joe Trammel, and Dennis Tolbert.
Visitation will be from 1 -9 p.m. Thursday, May 31, with a family hour from 6 -8 p.m. at the Crystal Rock Cathedral in Ardmore.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, June 1 at the Crystal Rock Cathedral in Ardmore. Sam Donica will officiate the service. Interment will be at the Rose Hill Cemetery, Ardmore. Music arranged by Jim Bob Laird and Sarah Watts. Services will be under the direction of Watts Funeral Home, Madill. Condolences may be sent to
