Ruby Allen was born in Kansas City, MO in 1943. She graduated from Southeast High School and attended KU for a while and later went to Chicago for a job at the Bahai publishing house. While in Chicago she attended Loyola University. Eventually she moved to Arlington, Texas, to be near her daughter and grandchildren. When her daughter moved to Alabama, Ruby met Charles Allen. The couple were married on July 1, 2006. They loved to travel and had a variety of cats over their 191/2 years.
