William “Bill” Gregory Sadler, 78, of Paris, Missouri, passed away on February 5th, 2026, surrounded by family at Harry S Truman Memorial Veterans Hospital in Columbia, Missouri. Born on January 28th, 1948 in Kansas City, Missouri, he was the son of William G. and Sarah Sadler. Bill graduated from Southeast High School in 1966 and married Peggy Booth in April 1971.
He served in the United States Navy from 1967 to 1991, retiring as a Chief Petty Officer. His service included the Gulf War era Peacetime and Vietnam era, earning numerous commendations as a small arms marksmanship instructor.
After retiring from the Navy, Bill and Peggy made their home in Paris, Missouri. In 1993, he began working with the Paris R School District as a paraprofessional, supporting students with a wide range of needs. His patience, humor, and compassion left a lasting impact on countless children and families.
Bill loved the outdoors. He enjoyed fishing, deer hunting with bow or gun, collecting snakes, and spending time with friends. He also helped organize and play in a local pool league. He was known for his warmth, generosity, and playful spirit.
He is survived by his brother Glenn “Dutch” and wife Ramona of Lenexa, Kansas; his nephew Garrett and wife Stacy; and his great niece Charlotte, along with many cherished friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Peggy. Bill is survived by special friends he made over the years.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, February 21st, 2026, from 2 to 4 PM at the Paris Library basement, 101 N. Main, Paris, MO 65275.
