Mr. Hubert C. Eason Jr.

Hubert Charles Eason, Jr., is a native of Kansas City, Missouri and son of Rev. Hubert C. Eason, Sr. and Annie Eason. He began this life December 7, 1956 and transitioned to eternal life on February 9, 2026.

He was a native of Kansas City, Missouri; graduated at Southeast High School and

ultimately attended Bishop College in Marshall, Texas. Following College, he spent 40 faithful years at the

Burlington Northern Santa Fe (BNSF) Railroad. In 1977,he began his career as a railroad clerk in Lincoln,

Nebraska. He later moved to Kansas City rose through the ranks becoming a Yardmaster, Senior Member of the Precision Execution Team and ultimately a Train Master. His work ethic was on full display regardless of the role he filled and was evidenced from the recognitions and awards he earned. For his exceptional safety performance, operational excellence, leadership, teamwork, customer commitment and community involvement, he was awarded the company's top-tiered Burlington Northern Santa Fe Chairman Award. Additionally, he was lauded for his fundraising achievements over the last two decades as he

spearheaded varying events for BNSF to raise money for the Junior Achievement Organization – focused on preparing K-12 students for future success in financial literacy, work readiness, and entrepreneurship.

Hubert thoroughly enjoyed music, traveling, gardening and was known to many as an amazing dancer (Kansas City Two-Step). Above all else, Hubert was an incredibly generous family man and friend who showered people love and unwavering support in abundance fashion.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Rita Eason from Kansas City, a daughter, Angela Eason of Kansas City, daughter- in-law, Linda Pena-Eason (Anthonnie), a son, Anthonnie Eason of Kansas City; two sisters, Marva Jo Anderson of Oklahoma and Debra Roach of Kansas City; two sisters- in-law, Brenda K. Winston and Christie Harris (Kenneth), two brothers, Kermet Ray Roach of Kansas City and Pastor Don Crowley (Sherry); seven grandchildren, Siyarah, Nina, Neci, Sean, DJ and Adriana; four great grandchildren, Zeke, Quincy, Elijah, and Aylah a host of uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, cousins other relatives and friends.

Memorial services Saturday, February 28, 2026 at 1:00pm at Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church. Private Disposition. Arrangements entrusted to Lawrence A. Jones & Sons. Condolences may be shared on our website.
