Ruby Rushing Obituary
Ruby grew up and attended schools in Rice. She married Raymond Riggins on January 17, 1962 in Ennis, Texas. Raymond went home with the Lord on October 8, 2015. Ruby worked as a cashier for Walmart in different towns in Texas and was employed as a cook for the Howe High School for several years until she retired.
Ruby would later marry Joe Rushing on April 17, 2016. Her family would attest that she was an excellent cook. She had a 'green thumb' with raising flowers and gardening. She enjoyed the outdoors, going camping and traveling. Ruby loved life. She was a wonderful sister, wife, mother, Grandmother, and recently Great-Grandmother. She loved her family. Ruby was a longtime member with Grayson Bible Baptist Church and loved her many close church friends.
Ruby was also preceded in death by an infant daughter, Sheila, her parents, and a brother, Obie Sparks.
She is survived by her husband, Joe of Luella; daughters, Darla Grisolia and her husband James of Van Alstyne, TX, and Melinda Wirta of Dallas, TX; grandchildren, Robert Harris Magnuson II and his wife Dana, Eric Grisolia and his wife Cassandra, Lilly Magnuson, and Emily Grisolia; one great granddaughter, Avery Tazelaar; step-children, Jeffery Joe Rushing, Stephanie Pettett, Daniel Rushing, John Rushing, and Dawn Krutila; sisters and their husband, Betty Duncan and Russell, Blanch Claxton and Gene, and Linda Ozuna and Johnny all of Rice, TX.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 30, at Grayson Bible Baptist Church 4400 E. Hwy 82, Sherman, with Rev. Roy Webster officiating and Bro. Charles Hamilton assisting. Pallbearers will be Russell Duncan, Johnny Ozuna, Robert Manguson II., Eric Grisolia, John Rushing, and Alex Rushing. She will be laid to rest at Rice Cemetery in Rice, Texas.
The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the funeral services.
