Wm Pilkilton Obituary

A celebration of his life will be held 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 16 at Preston Community Church, with Rev. Bill Schultz officiating. Hoyt peacefully met his Lord as he slept, from complications with cancer. He was on business in Bangkok, Thailand.

His soul blessed his parents, Hoyt Sr. and Dortha (Dot) Pilkilton on Nov. 5, 1941 in Sherman. Hoyt was a graduate of Sunset High School in Dallas, and University of Texas in Austin Law School. He went on to become a well-known criminal court attorney in Austin and Dallas.

He enjoyed fishing and skiing on Lake Texoma with his dad. Many days he loved to travel, but his bucket list finished with his trips to Alaska and Lake Tahoe.

He tried to retire on the Preston Peninsula in his old family home, but felt the Lord leading those in need of his help for free, and gladly worked.

Once a year, Hoyt joined 30 alumni for the weekend at a friend's ranch. He felt blessed they all stayed close.

Memories of love and laughter will be remembered by his mother, Dot, stepson, Jason Owens, cousin-in-law, Marsha Allison, Aunt Cathy Pilkilton and sons of family-owned Dodge dealership in Denison, and cousin Dennis Pilkilton, He was preceded in death by his father, Hoyt Pilkilton Sr., uncles, Fred Pilkilton Jr, J.B. Pilkilton and Charles Pilkilton; grandparents, Reynolds and Pilkilton; uncle, Bill Allison and cousins, Sonny Allison, Jerry Pilkilton and Greg Pilkilton.

With his love for Pastor Billy Vier and Preston Community Church, he wanted memorials designated to their Building Fund.
