Alfred Niemi

1932 - 2017

Alfred (Al) Niemi, passed away on August 23, 2017, at the age of 84 years. Born October 2, 1932, to Grace and Lauri Niemi of Gloucester, MA. He served in the National Guard for three years and in the U.S. Air Force for another four years. He then moved to the Seattle area in 1957. Al worked for West Coast Telephone, Rocket Research, and retired from Boeing. He was a member of the American Legion. As a master model ship builder, he greatly enjoyed researching and building model ships from scratch. Al is survived by his wife, Thelma Niemi; sons, Tom Niemi and Bruce Niemi; his brother, Loren Niemi; and his grandson, Spencer Niemi. He was preceded in death by his son, Glenn Niemi. A private memorial service will be held on Sunday, August 27, 2017.
