Bradley Elmgren Obituary

Bradley Elmgren&bb& Palmer, AK resident, Bradley Turner Elmgren, 50, died at his home on January 27, 2002 from complications of lung cancer.&pe& A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1:00pm, Friday, February 1, 2002 at the Palmer Moose Lodge No. 793, South Cobb Street, Palmer, AK. An additional service will take place in Washington State and will be announced at a later date.&pe&Mr. Elmgren was born May 17, 1951 in Vancouver, WA. He graduated from Kennewick (Washington) High School in 1969. He served in the United States Air Force from 1970 until 1973. He met his wife, Brenda, in Anchorage on June 21, 1985, then moved to Palmer in 1986. He had worked as a journeyman electrician and retired from the Alaska Housing Finance Corporation in October of 2000. Brad enjoyed riding his Harley motorcycle in the summers and his snowmachine in the winter. He also enjoyed fishing and spending time with his many friends.&pe& His family said: "Brad was a very giving person. He was there to help anyone who needed it. His knowledge of electricity was extensive, which he was willing to share."&pe&Mr. Elmgren was preceded in death by his father, Raymond Elmgren, who died in 1995.&pe&He is survived by his wife, Brenda; their dog, Buddy; mother, Millie Elmgren of Walla Walla, WA; brothers and sisters-in-law, Erik and Kathy Elmgren of Kennewick, WA, Jon and Martha Elmgren of Monroe, WA; children, Alan and Melissa; nephews and nieces, Andy Eli, Isaac and Karen, all of Washington State; mother and father-in-law, Don and Millie Hougen of Yuma, AZ; and numerous friends throughout Washington and Alaska.&pe&Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, Mat-Su Unit, PO Box 431, Palmer, Alaska 99645&pe&Arrangements by Valley Funeral Home & Crematory of Wasilla.
