Chad Knowles Obituary

Chad Knowles passed away on December 10, 2023 at 55 years old, after a courageous year-long fight with Glioblastoma at his home on Whidbey Island.

Born September 19, 1969, to Jim Knowles and Yonnah Ben Levy (Jennifer Ballard) - Chad learned his appreciation for the outdoors from his parents who raised him salmon fishing, duck hunting, and snow skiing in the Pacific Northwest.

After graduating from Issaquah High School in 1987, Chad went on to study Economics at Western Washington University. He later found joy working as a dedicated home inspector in the Puget Sound region for over twenty years.

Chad loved being a father and raising his two daughters, Ellen and Betsy. Some of their favorite memories with him are around the dinner table enjoying meals he cooked. Later in life, his love for food expanded beyond the kitchen to the garden.

Chad brought a sense of adventure to all that he did. He loved life and others deeply, and he will be missed by many.

A memorial service for Chad's life will be held at Rosehill Community Center on Sunday, January 14 at 2PM. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests considering donating to Cloud Mountain Farm Center, whose mission is to share knowledge and resources that support a resilient, accessible, and equitable regional food system.
