Chris Stewart-Price, 86, of Snohomish, died at home on June 21, 2023, with her husband by her side. Chris was born on January 18, 1937, to Arleen and Austin Palmason in Seattle, Washington. Her parents named her Loretta, but she changed it to Chris as an adult. She attended school in the Highline School District, where she was involved in all school activities and was in Varsity Song for 4 years, cheering for the state football championship team in 1954. She was also a member of Job's Daughters, becoming the Honored Queen.
Chris met her future husband, Bob Steiner, at Highline High School. They were married shortly after her graduation. Chris and Bob had four children.
After raising her children, Chris attended the University of Washington to get her teaching degree. She later returned to earn her master's degree in education.
Chris taught in several Seattle schools before working in the Snohomish School District. She was the first female assistant principal for the district in 1982, holding that position at Valley View Junior High and later at Centennial Middle School when it opened. She retired from education in 1999.
Chris married George Price in 2003 and moved to Snohomish. She became involved in many activities, giving endless hours to community service. She was a member of the P.E.O. and was a master gardener.
Chris was preceded in death by her parents, her ex-husband Bob, sons Steve and David, and her daughter Karen. She is survived by her husband George, her daughter Sherri (Ed), her brother Ray (Donna), her stepson Jim (Karen) and his children, and her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Chris will be remembered as a very giving, caring, and loving person by her family, friends, and associates.

I have many fond memories of working with Chris both at Valley View and Centennial from 1982 to 1999. My condolences to her family. We have lost a very kind and compassionate lady. She will be missed.

I have fond memories of working with Chris at Centennial. I was her assistant for a short time and also was the school nurse. She was always the ultimate professional and had a love for all students. It was a pleasure to work with her. Condolences to the family.
