David Zahniser Obituary

Dave was born on December 11, 1945, in Erie, Pennsylvania. He was diagnosed with liver cancer and six weeks later on November 13, 2016, peacefully died at his home and went to Heaven to be with his God. Dave attended Culver Military Academy in Indiana and graduated from Mt. Lebanon H.S. in Pennsylvania. Dave served in the U.S. Navy for four years on a submarine and on a salvage ship. He achieved an Associate of Arts Degree in Computer Programming at Everett Community College and was a certified Harley Davidson mechanic. Dave was a thoughtful, gentle, loving man who cared deeply for his wife, family, and friends. He loved Harleys, horses, his birds, HO scale trains, oil painting, and playing his guitars. He was a self-taught musician and artist. Landscaping and gardening were passions for Dave as well as taking long rides on his Harley, which brought him great pleasure. Dave will be greatly missed by his loving wife, Merle; his children, Dav (Heather), Tommi (Lilja), Sean (Tiffany), Melanie (Ammon), and Andrew (Nicole). He had 12 grandchildren whom he loved very much, Andri, Tomas, Adeline, Caleb, Isaiah, Ezra, Joshua, Eden, Duncan, Logan, Landon, and Levi; and his dear sister, Nancy (Chic) and many nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life will be held on December 4, 2016, at Mountain Valley Chapel, 230 Lewis Street, Gold Bar, WA, at 2:00 p.m.
