Delaine Vance Obituary
Delaine (Sele) Vance born August 26, 1936 in Lake Bronson, Minnesota died October 14, 2025 in Everett, WA. Dee spent her formative years in Arlington, WA and graduated from Arlington High School, where she met her husband, Allen. Dee and Al married in 1955, and eventually settled in Marysville, WA where they raised their two sons. In 1971 Dee began work for the Marysville School District as an educational assistant, working mostly at the elementary level with special needs children.
At retirement, Dee and Al spent many years enjoying travel: in the early years boating in the San Juan Islands; then camping and fishing trips with family friends. Later in life, Dee enjoyed trips to Hawaii and cruise vacations to Alaska and the Caribbean. As a snowbird, she and Al visited Arizona with the motor home during the winter months.
At home, Dee was a talented cook and hostess for all who knew her; she loved her family and friends immensely. Her hobbies were toll painting, quilting and crochet, gardening, playing cards, dice games and bingo! She also loved to dance.
When granddaughters were born, Dee was a wonderful grandma who spoiled them with love. As the girls grew older she taught them cross-stitch, baking, and various card and dice games (some for money).
Dee had a wonderful, enjoyable life that was centered around family.
Dee was predeceased by her husband Allen Vance; her parents Harold and Gertrude Sele; brother Durwood Sele; sister Barbara Olson and husband Marvin; brother-and sister-in-law Gary and Patty Vance; and brother-in-law Dell Foster. She is survived by sons Allen Vance (Theresa) of Everett; and Kevin Vance (Nancy) of Stanwood; sister Lois Foster of Redmond, WA and sister-in-law Barbara Sele of Maricopa, AZ. She also leaves grandchildren Erin Davidson (Eli) of Everett; Sele Vance of Seattle; and Madison Vance of Maltby; great-grandchildren Teddy and Jack Davidson; as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.
A celebration of life will be held at Gleneagle Golf Course 1-4 pm Sunday October 26th.

I was so sorry to hear of Dee´s passing. We´ve been friends for over 70 years. Our birthday was on the same day. I´ll remember her always.
