Dennis Earl Haskins

1946 - 2016

June 8, 1946-February 1, 2016 Dennis Haskins of Everett, Washington passed on to be with his Savior on February 1, 2016 at the age of 69. He was born on June 8, 1946 in Silverton, Ore. to Russel and Betty Haskins. Dennis proudly served two tours of duty in the Viet Nam war as part of the United States Navy. Upon his return from the Navy, he worked at Harry's Chevron in Everett where he met the love of his life, Evonne Worrell. He married Evonne in Everett, Washington on January 12, 1968. They stayed in Everett where they raised three sons. He became a member of the local Operating Engineers union as a crane operator where he stayed until retirement. Dennis loved devoting his time to his family, be it coaching T-Ball, Mastering a Cub Scout troop, camping, traveling or just spending time together. He enjoyed walking ocean beaches with his wife, writing poetry, making furniture and bird houses in his wood shop and watching the Seahawks. He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Evonne; his children, Mike, Jeff and Zoe and Tim; four grandchildren, Jordan, Olivia, Grace and Dominic; nieces, Christy Worrell, Jessie Menkens, Kellie and Darcie Tiffany, Sheila and Gina Thompson and nephew, Harry Howman; brother-in-law, Roger and Janet Worrell; sister, Pauline Howman; as well as numerous life-long friends close enough to be called family. Dad, you were a special husband, father and friend. You will be deeply missed and will be in our hearts forever! A graveside service will be held at Cedarhome Cemetery in Stanwood on Tuesday, February 9, 2016 at 1:00 pm. There will be a reception immediately following at Jeff and Zoe's home.
