Jamie Palm passed away in her sleep on Sunday, Sept. 5, 2021.
She was born at Fort Lawton Army Hospital in Seattle, WA on Sept. 18, 1956. Weighing in at 1lb 13.5 oz, she made national news when she survived at that weight. Born to Fred Leon Bowen and Joyce Elaine Ness, Jamie was the oldest of 7 siblings. She is survived by her husband of 35 years, Dennis Palm, daughters LynnAnn Ozturk & Lynnette Fortier and her 4 grandchildren Leyla & Ali Ozturk and Austin & Michael Fortier. She is also survived by her siblings Joni Bowen, Jim Bowen, Jody Heinbaugh, Cristi Papen and Tony Bowen. Her youngest sister Tami Wells, whom Jamie was very close to, preceded her in death on Oct. 24, 2017.
Jamie enjoyed helping people & spending time with her family. She and Dennis lived in Dolan Springs, AZ for several years in an unusual octagonal house they designed & built themselves. In 2003, they moved back to Everett to be near her daughter & help with the birth of her first grandchild, Leyla. She enjoyed traveling throughout the US, spending time in Idaho with her sister, Jody, as well as enjoying time with her brother, Jim, in Vancouver, WA.
As an accomplished auditor & inspector at Boeing, she worked there some 20 years. Around 2010 she traveled to the Netherlands for a time to work for Fokker-Elmo and the Dutch Air Force on the P8 surveillance aircraft. Her duties included auditor, inspector and assisting in electrical engineering. In time, Boeing lured her back to the Everett plant to work on several programs until her much deserved retirement.
Over the past several years, Jamie struggled with her health. She was vibrant and a very-much loved part of her family. It is with deep and profound sadness that we say farewell dearest wife, cherished mother, grandmother and sister. We will miss you forever.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, October 4, 2021, 12:00 noon, in the gardens at Purdy-Walters at Floral Hills Cemetery, Lynnwood.
