Opal Lindborg Obituary

Opal passed away December 7, 2025, at the age of 94.

She was born October 11, 1931, in Arlington, Washington to Peter and Evelyn Fingarson (nee Benedict),

and grew up in Arlington with her 4 sisters and one brother during the Great Depression.

Opal met her husband of 54 years, Ole (E.E.) Lindborg, at the Arlington skating rink while in high school.

She later wrote in her 1949 yearbook that her dying words would be, "Oh Ole".

They married August 20, 1949, and made their home in Marysville, where they raised their four children.

A devoted mother, Opal was actively involved in her family and community, serving as a PTA member,

room mother, Camp Fire leader, and member of the Steven Edenholm Orthopedic Guild.

Opal enjoyed knitting, sewing, canning, and playing pinochle. She and Ole enjoyed several years as snowbirds in Arizona.

She is survived by her children, Debra Jane Dassler (Skip), Mitch Blaine Lindborg (Camille), Polly Fane Lindborg,

and Paddy Lane Lindborg (Corrina); 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and her sister Sally Lindberg.

She was preceded in death by her husband Ole, her parents, her brother Donald Fingarson, and sisters Doris Smith, June Becktell, and Marian Gustafson.

Memorial service is planned for later this year.
