John Haskett Obituary

May 27, 1992 - Sept 11, 2018 John passed suddenly from complications due to his Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy in Butte, Montana. He was 26 years young. John was born in Arlington, Washington, but recently moved to Montana with his parents. He graduated from Granite Falls High School in 2011. John had a life-long passion for video games and visiting with family and friends and had dreams of hunting the big game with his new adaptable rifle mount. He is survived by his parents, Howard and Marie of Ramsay, MT; grandfather, Howard of Ramsay; brother, Howie (Karlee) of Monroe, WA, sister, Meagan (Chris) of Granite Falls, WA, and brother, Kyle (Marquea) of Windsor and his best friend Travis. He leaves behind nieces and nephews who were his world, Shelby, Kalynn, Kamryn, John, Ryan and Oliver. He is preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Sylvia Haskett, maternal grandfather, James Armes and maternal grandmother, Cleo Armes, his nephew, Matthew and many friends he has lost from MD. John touched many lives and made them better, he was always putting everyone else first before himself In lieu of flowers please donate to Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA), or the Jett Foundation (this is where he went to camp the last 10 years). We know everyone is hurting from this tragic loss, but we will see him again someday. John requested no services because he thought his friends would be too upset and he would not want that.

April 18, 2019

Remembering John's bright smile, his wheelchair 'drags' up & down our street in summer, his quick wit and ready laugh, and most of all his deep love of family - especially the new little'uns. Remembering the whole family's closeness and strength. First Jessica and then myself - as neighbors - will be with your dear family always in spirit. HUGS!

The Haskett Family, Floyd and I are so sorry for the loss of Johnny. He was a special man and full of life. He is havenn with no more pain and smiling down at you, waiting until it is your time to join him. I remember his sitting in his wheel chair at the yard sale you had before you left for Montana. He was enjoying himself talking to the people that came to the sale, I will always remember his as he was that day, enjoying the sun, outdoors, talking to the people and just really enjoying himself. He is at rest now. Sharyn and Floyd Cole

Although I only knew John for a brief stint at camp starting last summer, & he left a lasting impression on me. His perspective on life has rubbed off on me and helps me not take things so seriously.

It was such an honor to have known John. He was always such a hoot at camp promise where we got to know him. We always loved to see him smile and hear whatever new jokes he had for us. It so sad to hear of his passing, but it's good to know he's in a happy place.
