John LeBlanc Obituary

John C. "Jack" LeBlanc John C. "Jack" LeBlanc, a resident of Marysville, WA and former resident of Camano Island and Lake Stevens, WA passed away suddenly at University of Washington Medical Center in Seattle, WA on April 21, 2017 at the age of 95. He was the son of Stephen and Regina "Pat" LeBlanc and grew up in Port Angeles, WA. As a young man he was a member of the Civilian Conservation Corps on the Olympic Peninsula, a logging truck driver, boxer in the Golden Gloves program, an exhibition dancer and dance instructor. During WWII, he built airplanes for Boeing and then served in the Army Air Corps from 1944-1945. Jack attended classes at Seattle University and returned to work at Boeing after the war and had a successful career in quality assurance management, finishing on the 747 aircraft manufacturing line in Everett, WA. He retired early to pursue his many interests and lived a full and active life to the end. An adventurous outdoorsman, included in his accomplishments was scaling Mt. Rainier in 1967, as well as many horseback pack-in trips into far-flung wilderness areas from Alaska to Wyoming, to hunt and fish. He was a top-notch marksman and one of the longest running members of the Marysville Gun Club. An avid horseman, he was for many years an active member of the Snohomish County Sheriff's Posse and its precision horseback drill team. His horses were always well-trained, groomed and reined with the slightest of effort, while he and the family competed in many 4-H and horse club sponsored playdays, only giving up his horses in his 80s. Many of his grandchildren were introduced to horses and riding by their grandfather. After retirement and his move to Camano Island, Jack took up the tamer sport of golf and frequented Camaloch Golf Course for many years, as recently as the month before his death. He was predeceased by his daughter, Deborah. He leaves his sister, Barbara LeBlanc, Springfield, OR; his children, Denise LeBlanc and her husband, Ted Haugstad, Marysville; Dyann Arthur and her husband, Rick, Mill Creek, WA; Stephen LeBlanc and his wife, Heather, Arlington, WA; John B. LeBlanc and his wife, Antoinette, Everett; Robin McPhillips and her husband, Tom, Hilton Head Island, SC; and many beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The family will hold a private celebration of life at a future date.
