Jon W. Stines (Jones), 51, originally from Arlington Washington passed away near his small farm in Fredericktown Ohio on June 19, 2025. Like most of his family members, he loved the outdoors and worked at a sawmill after high school. When Northwest Hardwoods closed, he became a plumber while he studied in the field of computer science. He was a prankster and loved a good laugh, and often he was the life of the party. He had many friends and family members that enjoyed his sense of humor and listening to his stories. Jon battled serious health conditions, including cancer in his teens and a recent heart transplant. He was adventurous and tried to include extended family members in his adventures. He spent the last couple of years travelling the world with his wife and sampling different cuisines. He had just fulfilled his dream of opening a restaurant in his small town in Ohio near an Amish community which supplied him with fresh produce.
Jon is survived by his wife Deveri Stines, daughter Renay Perea (Stines) and family, stepson Joshua Ray and family, mother Cathy Jones, brother Eddie Smith and family, uncle Toby Strotz and family, aunt Christie Jacobs and family, and countless friends and extended family.

Christmas Eve is a much loved tradition with the Strotz family. When we were kids, Jon, Casey, and I would watch for Santa from the windows of the house on Kackman Road. We were always certain to see the lights of Santa´s sleigh and shortly thereafter would be a knock at the door. Jolly old St. Nic would be there with a bag of presents.
Jon, traveling with Auntie to Ohio to see you was the greatest of experiences! In true form, you schmoozed the nurses, smuggled and stashed food because food from hospital menu was not your forte, and you knew more about the heart than most professionals. Your life was too short and memories of times with you will always be present. Love you, cousin.
