Judith Pitcher Obituary

Judith Lynne McLean Pitcher passed away at the age of 89 on May 9, 2024 in Everett, WA. She was born on October 4, 1934 in Everett and spent most of her life living in the Everett area. She was the only child of E. Park and Maurine McLean.

Judy graduated from Everett High School in 1952 and earned a BA in Education from the University of Washington in 1956. Judy was a proud member of the Gamma Phi Beta sorority and served as house president.

After graduation, Judy married T. Clyde Pitcher Jr. on August 11, 1956. They were fortunate to celebrate 67 years of marriage together.

Judy loved spending time with family and friends. She enjoyed hosting and cooking family recipes for a large crowd. She often commented on how lucky she and Clyde were to have family that gathered to spend time together. Over the years, you could find her playing with her kids, grandkids, and then great-grandkids in the sand at Useless Bay. She always kept a collection of toys and children's books on hand, even in her 80s living in a retirement community. Judy and Clyde would call every member of the extended family on their birthdays to sing Happy Birthday and We Love You. She always had a ready hug, a warm smile, and a listening ear.

Judy's faith was central to who she was and she demonstrated it every day with her acts of empathy, kindness, and service. She was a longtime member of Everett First Presbyterian Church, serving as an elder and Sunday school teacher. She loved the Senior Presbyterian Adult Ministry (SPAM) group and served on numerous other committees. Judy was a member of PEO, Women's Book Club and many more.

The last five years of her life, Judy resided at Morning Star at Silver Lake with Clyde. She enjoyed spending time in her new home with friends, old and new.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde, and parents, Park and Maurine McLean.

Judy leaves behind daughters Debby (Bill) Gaffney-Foppiano of Olympia WA, Julie (Scott) Ellison of Emmett, Idaho, Jan (Aaron) Geibel of Seattle, WA and son Dave Pitcher of Camano Island, WA. She was blessed with five granddaughters, five grandsons, four great-grandchildren, and two more on the way.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, June 29th, 2:00 pm at Everett First Presbyterian Church, 2936 Rockefeller Ave, Everett WA. A private entombment will be held at Evergreen Mausoleum.

Memorials may be made to Everett First Presbyterian Church or your favorite charity.

So many memories of Judy at mission beach, as she was a "beach mom" to me, as we were next door neighbors. My mom always loved visiting and talking with Mrs. Pitcher, even after the beach years, I would hear the stories of them getting together, and all the fun they would have together.

My condolences to Debby, Dave, Julie and Jan and all of your families. Heaven sure gained a treasure.
