Kristin McKean Kapp was found in her Everett, WA home October 5, 2020 after passing away peacefully due to complications from melanoma cancer. Born on June 2, 1969, Kristin resided in Edmonds, WA with her parents James and Sandra Sinclair and her younger brother William. She developed lifelong friendships with Michelle Gray, Stephanie Rogerson, and Richard Connolly.
Following Kristin's mother's passing on November 12, 1978, James married Barbara Gluth on February 12, 1983 creating a blended family including Marcus, Erin, and Bradley Gluth.
In 1988 Kristin graduated from Edmonds Senior High School and then began working in the medical field and grocery industry. In 2001 she married Fredrick Kapp and on September 12th had a son Cory Kapp of Snohomish. Balancing parenting and demands she eventually became a cake decorator.
Kristin loved working in her yard, filling it with beautiful flowers and pampering her pets. However, more than anything her son Cory was her whole world from the day he was born.
Several Christmas holidays were celebrated in Hawaii with her grandmother, Hazel Jensen, and her immediate family. Her favorite island was Maui and she considered it her happy place.
Kristin was sweet, loyal, kind, compassionate, above all courageous. She faced every day with optimism and a smile. Kristin will be sorely missed as a daughter, mother, sister, and friend, but she will remain in hearts and memories.
Due to Covid-19 restrictions, arrangements will be made for a Celebration of Life Service at a later date. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to the American Cancer Society or a local animal shelter.

I was one of Kristen's teachers in a preschool Sunday School class at the Chapel of Peace Church in Lynnwood. This was in 1972, 1973, or so. Her grandparents, Hazel and Ed Jensen brought her to church. Kristen was an adorable child with a quietly sweet personality. I became acquainted with her grandparents through prayer group and sometimes we met at the Jensen's home. I met Sandy through Hazel and I recall one time they were at a Mother Daughter Tea through the church and my mother and I had the pleasure of sitting with them. I remember when Willie joined the family and then he was of preschool age and came to the class at church. He had a distinctly different personality than Kristen but was a joy to have in the group. I remember the grief when Sandy died .
So sorry to read that Kristen died at what seems an early age, but blessed to read about her blended family growing up and about her son, Cory.
May the Lord comfort your family and also Kristen's close friends.

Kris was a wonderful neighbor. We shared many great times with our families. So many memories. She was always
our emergency contact for our home n pets. She had a heart of gold. So very saddened to hear this. I know how much she loved her son. He was her life. Gone to soon. My heart goes out to Jim, Barb and Cory.

Oh, heartbreak! I'm so sorry to see this. As soon as I saw her photo I knew this was "the other Kristin", "my Kristin", Kristin Sinclair- we were the two Kristen/Kristin's in our class at EHS. She was a sweetheart and I remember her fondly as my friend and "twin sister", though life took us in different directions after school.
I'm so very sorry for your loss.
