Lila M. Butters

1933 - 2016

Feb. 23, 1933-July 4, 2016 Lila went home to be with her Lord and Savior on the 4th of July, one of her favorite holidays. She was born in Okanagan Wash. To Martin and Gertie Hansen and was the youngest of six siblings. The family moved to the Marysville, Wash. area and she attended Marysville schools. She resided in the Getchell area for over 50 years. In 1950 she married William Thompson and they had three daughters. They were married until Bill's untimely death in 1969. She then married Bennett Butters in 1972 and were married until Ben's passing in 2013. Lila was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers Gerald, Rudy, Howard, and Larry Hansen; also by her precious granddaughter, Jodi Gomez in 2010. She is survived by her three daughters, Jeannie (Dave) Bradford, Louise (Dan) Wray, and Cheryl (Bob- deceased) Long; four stepsons, Mike, Dave, John and Terry Butters; her beloved sister, Lilian Ostbo; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews; as well as many friends and neighbors. Lila was an avid gardener and loved spending time in her pristine yard. She created a beautiful and lovely place to live. She also loved her friends coming over for band practice and many games of dominos with them. You are at peace now with no more pain or sorrow. You are in the arms of your savor and the family that is waiting for you in heaven. Per Lila's request there will be a service with a barbecue and potluck at her house and in her yard/garden that she loved so much on July 30, 2016, at 1 p.m. Please come by and visit, reflect and share your stories.
