Matthew Cason Obituary

Untitled

Matthew Louis Cason

Matthew Louis Cason died peacefully in his sleep on June 24, 2006. He was born November 2, 1986, at 12:10 a.m., weighing in at 7lbs. 15oz., and what a wondrous joy and love he brought to his family.
His name means gift of God and that he was. Matthew had a beautiful smile, one that not only lit up his face, but would light up the entire room. His smile was only matched by his laughter, a laugh so contagious you would laugh with him, usually till tears rolled down your face, without knowing why.
Matthew had a heart of gold, his sweetness and caring for others was genuine and constant. If a friend needed help, without fail he was there.
Matthew was a good athlete. He excelled in football, baseball and wrestling through Junior High. In High school he focused on his real passion, Skateboarding and playing music.
At 17, Matthew joined the U. S. Army Reserves. One of his proudest moments, and that of his family's, was his perseverance and completion of basic training.
Matthew held a deep belief in God; we know he is now with God and is at peace.
Matthew will be missed indescribably - he will have our everlasting love.
He is survived by his father and mother, Butch and Pam Cason; sister, Sarah; brother, Nicholas; nephew, Roanan; maternal grandparents, Ron and Lois Schroeder; paternal grandmother, Sumika Wicklander; step-grandfather, Hideo Kato; uncle, Tom Schroeder; aunt and uncle, Deb (Schroeder) and Dave Hassel, and cousins, Molly and Emily; aunt and uncle, Tim and Letha Schroeder, and cousins, Dustin and Dylan; uncle Robin Cason; and aunt and uncle, John and Diana McCreery (Cason), and cousins, Sumika and Kelsey Bradley.
In memory of Matthew's caring nature, for those who would like to make a donation, he would like those to go to any organization you have in your heart that reaches out and helps troubled youth.
Viewing will be held from 12 to 8 p.m., Thursday, June 29, at Evergreen-Washelli Funeral Home 11111, Aurora Avenue N., Seattle, WA 98133. Services will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, June 30, at Floral Hills Chapel, 409 Filbert Road, Lynnwood, WA 98036.

I am so sorry for your loss. I have great memories of Pvt. Cason in the Army. My favorite has to be flying in a chinook over to Yakima to see a training site and having lunch together. He had a contagious smile and a great heart!
