Patrick Power Obituary

Patrick grew up in Alderwood Manor with five siblings and a large extended family that he loved being a part of. He never met anyone he couldn't make into a friend and especially had a soft spot for people who were down on their luck and would often share what little he had with people he felt needed it more than he did. Pat passed away on March 23rd after a year long battle with cancer and is greatly missed by his friends and family.

Pat graduated from Meadowdale High School and soon after hitch hiked across the country three times, traveling to most of the US. Traveling alone was his favorite thing to do and he would work and save up to take months long trips to places like Mexico, Australia, China, India and Nepal, Thailand, the Middle East, Egypt, Morocco, the UK, Italy, Israel, and too many others to count. Pat worked for over 30 years for Yellow Cab in Everett and really enjoyed talking to the people he would pick up from all over the planet and all walks of life. Late in life he started studying art and making paintings and sketches for himself, most of which he gave away. His hand painted Christmas cards are especially prized by those who knew him.

Pat was proceeded in death by his parents Walt and Margaret and sister Cathi Mahoney, and leaves brothers Jim Power, Dan Power, sisters Joanne Lord, Diane Volkersz and his son McNeil Urseth, along with many cousins, nieces and nephews. He will be interred at the GAR in Snohomish, please make any donations to your local food bank or homeless shelter in his name.

Pat was a sweet dear friend to both my husband & myself. Bob has known Pat for 50 years. They became fast friends and enjoyed many of the same interests. They camped together did some traveling to CA & OR when Bob wanted to visit family, Pat would be up for that as well. I met Pat over 44 years ago shortly after I met Bob. Pat a friend, Bob & I would get together often at the beach, zoo or just hanging out. Pat surprised us with a photo album when we got engaged of
some of the times & places we all enjoyed together. Pat was our Best Man at our wedding and therefore became part of our family, enjoying picnics, birthday celebrations, baby showers & many family get togethers. We were so excited when Pat brought McNiel over to our house to meet us one day, he was so happy & proud.
Pat always filled us in on his many international travels at times bringing little gifts & sharing all the places & wonders he experienced. He was very supportive to our family in our times of loss, just as we were to him. We will always remember Pat`s kind & sweetness and all the times we enjoyed with him through the years.

We send prayers and our love to the entire Power family and wish you all comfort in the memories you have of Pat.

Sincerely,
Bob & Kathy Leahy
