Ralph Menning Obituary

Ralph H. Menning

Ralph H. Menning passed away February 24, 2008 in Edmonds, Washington. Ralph was born July 28, 1918 in Hoffland, Nebraska, a town that was no longer on the map after World War I.
He grew up in Minneapolis, MN. Where he graduated with a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Minnesota in 1939.
A very modest person, he seldom talked about his work in designing a radar detection device for the coleman company during World War II, or the first automatic Coca-Cola bottle-decapper for the Vendo Company of Kansas City, Missouri.
He married Suzanne Dee Baker of Kansas City on February 15, 1949. The couple moved to the Seattle, WA area in 1956, where he worked on several projects at Boeing, including the Dinosaur, Bomarc, the space program in New Orleans, LA, as well as the 747, until he retired in 1981.
He is survived by his wife, Suzanne, of Edmonds; sister, Virginia Buterbaugh, of Seattle; and loving nieces, nephews and cousins from coast to coast.
There will be no services at his request.
Remberances can be made to your favorite charity.

We are sorry to hear of Ralph's passing. We met him years ago through our Hummel collecting hobby. We have fond memories of a visit to his home and him feeding the chippies peanuts by hand.
