Richard Montgomery Obituary

Richard "Rick" Allen Montgomery
of Granite Falls, WA
May 17, 1954 - Aug. 6, 2010

Message from Rick,
I am very fortunate to have lived two lives. One of a practicing alcoholic and one of a recovering alcoholic. I want to thank all of my friends for being there when I needed you the most. I leave behind a loving wife of 32 years, Marti; two wonderful sons, Ryan and Casey; and our family dog, Pepper. May you all be happy, joyous and free.

At Rick's request there will not be a memorial or services.
In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Providence Hospice of Snohomish County.

I am missing Rick's presence and message in my homegroup. He always showed up for birthday cake, and we loved having him there. I feel blessed that Rick was part of my recovery. I wish Marti, Ryan and Casey all the best.

Marti & Family. My prayers are still with you. I feel blessed to have known Rick, he was a special "character" and a real inspiration to me. I've not met many people in my life who "walked the walk" with such conviction and clarity of purpose. He spoke often of how lucky and blessed he was to have you in his life with him. God bless and love all of you and continue to give you the strength you need in this time of loss.

Dear Marti, Ryan and Casey,
I can't imagine the saddness you must be feeling. You can surely take comfort in how much Rick gave the world in his recovery. He was the most endearing man and a rich example of living God's principles. His life really mattered an will live on in sll who were fortunate enough to see the beauty of his soul. Please know that I have thought of you, Marti, as an amazing woman with a great heart. I pray you all the best.
