On Tuesday, October 11, 2022, Rob Norling Jr., loving husband and father of three children, passed away in his sleep at the age of 52.
Rob was born on September 12, 1970, to Bob and Margie Norling in Everett, WA. Rob was raised in Everett, Washington, and was the fifth generation graduate from Everett High School. After high school Rob worked in industrial sales. For the last 16 years he was employed at Puget Sound Energy. In 1993, his daughter Ashley Kelly Norling was born. In 1997, he married his high school sweetheart, Jennifer Harker, and together they raised two more children, Maggie and Matthew.
In the last few years, Rob and Jenny moved to Arlington where he loved life on the "ranch." Rob was a life-long learner, seeking to know how to do just about anything. If there was something that needed to be fixed or built, he would learn how to do it. His work was impeccable. He loved spending time at the family vacation home on Whidbey Island, where he was known for his pyrotechnic skills. He also loved going on motorcycle adventures with his wife and camping trips to the ocean.
Rob was preceded in death by his daughter, Ashley, and his grandparents, Robert and Neva Norling and Clark and Isabelle Salisbury. He is survived by his wife, Jennifer of Arlington, WA, children Maggie and Matthew Norling, parents Bob and Margie Norling, sister, Tracy Norling, in-laws Tom and Barbara Harker, and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nephew, and nieces.
A celebration of life will be held in his honor on October 28 from 1:30-5:30 p.m. at Hotel Indigo in Everett, WA. Flowers, cards, and/or memorial contributions to the Glioblastoma Foundation are equally welcome.

I had worked with Rob for almost 14 of his 15 years at PSE and one thing that will definitely be missed here will be his distinctive laugh.
My condolences go out to the Norling family, extended family and his friends.

I'm shocked and saddened by the news of Rob. I went to school with him. He was a sweetie. May he rest in peace and reunite with his daughter.

Norling family,
Rob was such an important member of our family here in Everett at our small PSE base and will be greatly missed. He made everyone smile no matter how bad of day it was. He truly took pride in everything he did and touched so many hearts with his passion for life. I was so excited when he hired on years ago having gone to EHS with him and looked forward to the day he got posted in Everett with us. I'm truly saddened by his passing
and for your loss of this great man.

Norling family: As the representative of the Mukmeadows Ski Team (private ski club Stevens Pass 80's), please accept our sincere condolences on the passing of Rob. The Norling family was one of our founding families along with all the other families along with kids, dogs, and the like. Robbie, as we called Rob, was one our kids and his passing effects us all as if we lost one of our own. Those years of seeing all the families enjoy the mountain, watching the kids grow up will sustain us all with memories for life. Our love for each other will get us through this terrible loss, and we must be there to support the Norling family, and each other with the loss of Rob.

I am so sorry for your loss. I have such fond memories of hanging around with Rob on Whidbey - whether it was skiing or kneeboarding behind his Whaler, jumping off the sawdust dock (also known as the Chipper), or just hanging out by a beach fire. Pretty sure I thought he was the coolest guy I knew back then. Your family will be in my thoughts and prayers.
