Robert (Bob) Anson Cairns of Edmonds, WA passed away quietly in his sleep in the early morning of May 19, 2021 at home with his wife, Roberta (Bobbi) Michie Jensen, by his side. He was born on December 21, 1941, in Longview, WA, to Douglas and Dorothy Belle Cairns both now deceased. Bob is survived by his daughters Christiana Anita Cairns and Jennifer Ellinor Fairfax; and his sister, Sile Harriss. Bob was raised in Seattle, Washington and graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1960. He went on to get his Degree in Education from the University of Washington in 1964. On August 8, 1964, he married Randi Anita Pettersen (Cairns) and together raised their two daughters during their 43 years of marriage. Bob taught school in the Seattle School District for nearly 30 years before retiring from teaching. With he and his wife, Randi's love of sailing they owned and operated the Seattle Sailing Club for 30 years. Randi passed away due to illness after 47 years of being together. In 2009, Bob married Bobbi Michie Jensen. Together, Bob and Bobbi spent much of their time traveling the States, enjoying time with friends and family. Their love of travel took them everywhere whether it be by car, train, plane or boat. He had a passion for trains, was an avid sailor, a classic car enthusiast, a devoted husband, father, and grandpa. His love of life and laughter will not be forgotten. He will be greatly missed. Please join us Saturday, August 7, 2021, at 2pm for Bob's "Celebration of Life" at St. Hilda - St. Patrick Episcopal Church. 15224 52nd Avenue West, Edmonds, WA 98026. Donations can be made to the Edmonds Food Bank in his honor. Due to Covid-19 protocols at St. Hilda - St. Patrick's, please arrive a few minutes early to allow social distancing upon entering. If you are fully vaccinated, masks are optional with proof of vaccination. Masks are required for those not vaccinated indoors. Please remember, children under 12 are not vaccinated and must wear masks.
